MARCO PIERSANTI (1975)
Marco Piersanti è nato nel 1975 a Piacenza. Si avvicina all’arte come autodidatta e, successivamente, frequenta l’istituto d'arte di Piacenza Gazzola, vincendo quattro borse di studio, e diplomandosi nel 2004. Frequenta poi corsi di specializzazione sulle tecniche sperimentali. L’elemento figurativo che caratterizza le sue prime opere è stato via via contaminato dalla fotografia, prima con sporadici inserti sulla tela a completamento e rottura dell’immagine principale, poi divenendo essa stessa, la fotografia, la protagonista. Realizza diverse mostre e pubblicazioni, per poi abbandonare la pittura e dedicarsi completamente all’arte digitale e alla fotografia. Dopo una lunga ricerca e fasi di sperimentazione, infatti, trova un suo linguaggio: elabora in digitale diversi scatti da lui realizzati, per dare vita ad una sola immagine nella quale racconta storie fantastiche, dove le rotaie narrano il percorso di ognuno di noi e della propria valigia piena di ricordi. Nel 2012 si aggiudica il Premio Arte Cairo Editore per la sezione fotografia.Piersanti lavora contemporaneamente a diversi progetti fotografici realizzati documentando le strutture ferroviarie. Del suo progetto fotografico Jokers Train, l’artista afferma: “Si tratta di un progetto fotografico che parte da un percorso interiore e personale, mi affascina la consapevolezza che ogni persona che incontro è una storia, un bagaglio di ricordi ed emozioni, è il mio mezzo espressivo per affrontare il tema del viaggio, che racchiude il fardello e le speranze di ognuno di noi. Ogni valigia è un mondo fantastico e una storia da raccontare. Realizzo queste opere visitando e documentando tutte le stazioni ferroviarie in Italia e in Europa. Sono opere fatte sovrapponendo digitalmente più scatti, realizzati principalmente nei luoghi di partenza e di arrivo, nelle stazioni ferroviarie, dove c’è sempre una rotaia che ci porterà da qualche parte, un luogo magico dove il treno e la valigia sono protagonisti”.
Marco Piersanti was born in 1975 in Piacenza. He approached art as a self-taught person and later attended the Gazzola art school of Piacenza, winning four scholarships, and graduating in 2004. He then attended specialization courses on experimental techniques. The figurative element that characterizes his early works has been gradually contaminated by photography, first with sporadic insertions on the canvas to complete and break the main image, then becoming itself, the photograph, the protagonist. He made several exhibitions and publications, then abandoned painting and devoted himself completely to digital art and photography. After a long research and experimentation phases, he eventually finds his own language: he digitally elaborates several shots made by him, to give life to a single image in which he tells fantastic stories, where the rails narrate the path of each of us and the own suitcase full of memories. In 2012 he won the Arte Cairo Editore Award for the photography section. Piersanti works simultaneously with several photographic projects realized by documenting the railway structures. Of his photographic project Jokers Train, the artist states: "It is a photographic project that starts from an inner and personal journey, it fascinates me the awareness that every person I meet is a story, a baggage of memories and emotions, is my mean of expression to address the theme of travel, which contains the burden and the hopes of each of us. Each suitcase is a fantasy world and a story to tell. I create these works by visiting and documenting all the railway stations in Italy and in Europe. These works are made by digitally overlaying several shots, made mainly in the places of departure and arrival, in the railway stations, where there is always a rail that will take us somewhere, a magical place where the train and the suitcase are protagonists".
